Remember these guys from like forever ago? Haha, of course you don’t, you’re not even reading this! Anyways, here they are again, and if everything goes as planned I’ll be soon(ish) posting a webcomic I’m working on with these assholes- this is mostly an inking test, to see if the tonal range is effective like this (Which I think sort of is) and a lettering test, using Corel Draw this time since it’s what I already use at work so I know it a little better than AI or whatever. Using some font off Blambot that looked cool, if you think there’s a better font I could use let me know, in fact any advice on word balloons is greatly appreciated since god damn is it hard or what.
Some quick PoS I did with a pocket brush while my brother was getting his medical checkup.
You probably don’t even know what’s it supposed to be, do you?
Karate Robot Zaborgar is awesomely fucking insane, but you know that already, don’t you?
God I hate this drawing so much I messed up everything that could be messed with. Don’t even know why I bothered to color it, specially since I tried to do the greys with hatching, so it just looks weird?
Then again, whatever. That’s part of learning and shit.
Some sketches for a mostly scrapped concept, wanted to do an urban fantasy thing. The idea was mostly Megg from Girl Mountain if she were Constantine. I like the overall look, but the feeling right now is too much of a straight Hanselmann rip-off (I don’t even know why I put a bucket bong there, never used one in my life), got to fiddle around with it way more before it becomes a thing of its own.
Second page for the Pulp story, which at this pace will most likely not make it to this issue. Ah well, there’s always April. I took the first draft of the script, ironed out some pacing issues I had and improvised over it, later I’ll have the writer make dialogue to fit and we’ll see what happens, there’s a high chance I’ll redo this page too but whatever.
A lot of mistakes as always, and the phone’s text looks stupid, but other than that I think it looks slightly better than the last.
I found a scan of the pencils for that Chiri Kitsu fanart that I murdered with the G-Pen back then, and decided to have a digital go at it.
This is my first time inking with vectors! I used Inkscape and I’m convinced I did something horribly wrong. I mean, I like how it came out, but my standards are astonishingly low, specially since the measuring stick is the other inks of this. Ah well, practice makes acceptably mediocre, as they say.
Sample page for my upcoming strip in Premier Pulp, I was gonna do a lettering sample with it but my copy of Adobe decided it hated me and Inkscape is not eager to help at all. In fact, I made this page without even having a script, so most likely I’ll have to re-do it from scratch. Still, I’m semi-conformed by how it came out, other than those damn hands and the faces being somewhat constantly morphing.
